Hash Generator
Compute the SHA digest of text or a file. Compare it with the publisher's value to check that a download is intact.
Runs in your browser — no data is sent to the server.
Result
- Hashing uses your browser's WebCrypto API. The file is read into memory and never sent anywhere.
- The expected value field accepts hex, base64,
sha256-…(SRI) andsha256sumoutput. It works out which algorithm matches by itself. - SHA-1 is no longer considered collision-resistant; use it only for compatibility with old systems. MD5 is not offered because WebCrypto does not support it.
